From Employees to Residents
They Loved Working Here, So Now They Live Here
When employees decide to become residents, there’s no stronger vote of confidence. After all, they know us inside and out. They know that we put residents first in everything that we do.
See for yourself why three former employees decided to move in, then schedule a visit to explore our beautiful campus, meet the staff and chat with the residents.
Evelyn DenBleyker, former concierge
I worked here as a concierge for 12 years. I like people, so it was the perfect job for me. In fact, it’s the best job I ever had. People would stop by and chat, so I really got to know the residents and care about them. Of course, the staff was great too.
I lived in an active adult community and when the time came for me to move, I visited a few other senior communities. None of them had the feeling of warmth and family that Crestwood Manor did. I knew in my heart I wanted to be right here.
It’s exactly as friendly as I remember it. I go to dinner with a group of seven or eight ladies. We talk a lot and laugh a lot. I can’t say enough good things about Crestwood Manor. It feels like a big family here and it feels like home.
Carl Zerr, former bus driver
I worked here for five years, driving the bus. We would go to the mall, the grocery store, the movies and other places. We also have a car service here, so I would take residents to the airport, Atlantic City, doctors appointments or other places they needed to go.
I like living in this area. It’s close to the beach, close to my kids, but the house was getting to be too much, so I said, “it’s time to go.” Joan and I looked at a few communities in the area but none impressed me as much as Crestwood Manor. My background is in maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment so I look for everything to be neat, orderly and in its place. Crestwood Manor is immaculate.
When I was driving the bus, I spent more time outside the building than in. I never realized how much there is to do here. We signed up for the community chorus, we go to musical performances, we’ve made lots of friends. Every day there’s a calendar of things to do if you want to. It’s incredible.
Ellen Hinan, former concierge
I was a concierge here for two years. I loved it. The staff and residents were always smiling and I found it a pleasant place to be.
I don’t have any family in the area and I started to become more and more uncomfortable living alone in my house at Crestwood Village 4. What if something happened to me or I got sick? At Crestwood Manor, someone is here for you 24 hours a day. There’s a security net and you don’t have to worry.
Now that I live here, I fit right in. I play poker three nights a week, I go to the gym. I go to nearly all the events and activities that are offered and I’ve made some very good friends. I made the right decision to move here and I don’t have a minute of regret.
